How to create your WiFi QR code

  1. Enter your network details

    Enter the exact SSID and password from your router. Choose WPA/WPA2, WEP, or none to match the network.

  2. Generate your WiFi code

    Select Generate QR code. The code contains the network credentials; it does not configure your router.

  3. Test and download

    Scan with a guest phone, confirm it joins the right network, and download the PNG.

  4. Print for guests

    Print on a welcome card or sign with clear margins, then scan the final print before displaying it.

Use a guest network

Keep guests separate from your private devices. Enable guest isolation if your router supports it. Do not display a code for your main network in public.

Print size and placement

Start around 2.5–3 cm wide for close scanning, enlarge dense codes, and keep a white border at least four modules wide. Test the actual print at the expected distance.

Compatibility

Use WPA/WPA2 for compatible personal networks. WEP is obsolete and insecure; upgrade the router rather than relying on it. WPA3-only and enterprise networks require device-specific testing.

Do static QR codes expire?

The image does not expire. Encoded details cannot be edited; linked websites must stay available.

Does this support WPA3?

The common WiFi QR format used here labels WPA/WPA2 as WPA. WPA3-only networks may not work across phones; test your devices or use a guest network with compatible security.

Is my password hidden?

No. Anyone who can scan the code can read its credentials. Only share a guest network and replace the code if you change the password.

Can I make a code without a password?

Yes. Select none for an open network. An open network offers no WiFi password protection.

Why will my phone not connect?

Check the exact network name, password, security type, and range. Captive portals and enterprise WiFi may require additional login steps.
