QR Code for Wedding Photos: Share an Album With Your Guests

A QR code for wedding photos gives guests a link to an album or upload page. Create the album first, check that guests can contribute, then use QRMage’s free generator to turn its sharing link into a PNG. QRMage creates the code; your chosen photo service stores the pictures.

Make a wedding photo QR code in five steps

1. Choose the destination. Use a shared album or a wedding upload service with the contribution flow you want. Check storage limits and any ongoing cost.
2. Enable guest contributions. Viewing and uploading are different permissions. Confirm the link lets a guest add a photo, not just see yours.
3. Copy the sharing link. Use the service’s guest link rather than the URL of your private account dashboard.
4. Generate the PNG. Paste that link into the QR generator, generate, and download. Static PNG downloads are free and do not require a QRMage account.
5. Try a complete guest upload. Scan the downloaded code on a different phone, open the destination, and contribute a test photo. Confirm it arrives in your album before printing.

Google Photos, iCloud, or a wedding upload service?

Google Photos supports shared albums and contributions. Check its sharing controls and test whether your guests need a Google account to add pictures.

For iCloud Shared Albums, inviting subscribers and allowing posts is different from publishing a website for viewing. A public viewing URL should not be presented as an anonymous upload link. Test the specific guest experience you plan to offer.

A dedicated wedding upload service may have different account requirements. Check its actual upload flow, retention period, file limits, and price. The QR code does not change any of those terms or permissions.

What to print on the table card

Use a simple caption: “Share your wedding photos. Scan to open our album.” Add any account or app requirement underneath, along with a readable fallback URL. If you want uploads, avoid a caption that merely says “View photos.”

Place the code on a clean, light panel with an unobstructed margin. Test it at its final printed size and at the distance guests will use it. See the QR size guide and color guide. A code on a reflective frame or curved bottle needs its own printed test.

Put cards on tables or near a place where guests can stop and use their phones. Have someone available to help and offer another way to send photos.

Static codes work when the URL stays the same

A free static QR code keeps its encoded link. You can update the contents of a wedding website or album while keeping that same URL. You don’t need a dynamic code simply because the schedule or pictures will change.

For RSVP, directions, and registry information, link to one maintained wedding website. Keep a phone or other fallback for guests who cannot use the code.

Before the wedding and afterward

• Test the final printed code on more than one phone.
• Check viewing and upload permissions with a guest account, not just the owner.
• Confirm any required internet connection, login, or app is clearly explained.
• Keep the album link and any required storage subscription available.
• Review the album’s visibility settings before displaying private guest photos.
